Auto accidents claim lives on and off the road

On behalf of Guy Levy Law posted in auto accidents on Thursday, March 28, 2019.

California residents are no strangers to traffic. Drivers know that extra caution must be used at night, especially in areas where there may be pedestrians out and about. Drivers also know it is against the law to get behind the wheel under the influence of drugs or alcohol, but each day, people continue to break the law and wind up causing fatal auto accidents.

Recently, a woman police now suspect of driving under the influence ran a red light. This caused a terrible collision with two other vehicles. Two people suffered serious injury and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Worse yet, one of the vehicles involved in the crash was impacted so hard that it careened off the roadway. Before coming to rest on a sidewalk, it struck a woman sitting on a bench waiting for the bus to come. She died as a result of injuries suffered. Authorities revealed she was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver who ran the red light is expected to face criminal charges, including DUI.

Each day, auto accidents are the cause of serious injury or death. When an accident is caused by a driver that is legally impaired, victims and their families may want to hold the driver accountable in a court of law. The days and weeks following an accident are stressful for a victim and his or her loved ones, and in a time that may seem rather chaotic, many California victims seek peace of mind in the form of an experienced attorney. An attorney can help collect any damages and compensation that a victim may be entitled to and ensure that justice is served against a drunk driver.
